Bode Approved as New Director of Student Services
During a special meeting of the Belton ISD Board of Trustees in March, the board approved the hiring of Cynthia Bode as the director of student services. Bode replaces Stacie Seveska who was named principal of Belton Middle School in November.
“Cynthia stood out as the perfect candidate to join the Big Red Community,” said Mike Morgan, assistant superintendent for student services. “She has the professional experience as well as the passion and desire to support our campus administrators and to serve students and families in our district.”
During her 22 years in education, Bode has served as a teacher, coach, assistant principal and associate principal. Her most recent role was as assistant director of student support services in Leander ISD. She earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology/nutrition from Stephen F. Austin State University, where she also ran cross country, and then went on to earn a master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve as director of student services in the Belton ISD community,” Bode said. “I look forward to partnering with and meeting the needs of students, staff, and families in all areas of their educational journey.”
With Bode’s hiring, Seveska will transition to serving full time as principal of the new Belton Middle School, as efforts progress to repurpose the district’s current ninth grade campus into a fourth middle school, opening in August 2020.
“I am absolutely elated to have the opportunity to serve as principal of Belton Middle School,” Seveska said in November. “The middle school years are vital in the development of children, and what happens during these few short years will have a lasting impression on their future growth. I truly appreciate the opportunity to foster this important time in their development.”
