Meet Kandee Moon
Current title/school? Third grade teacher (math/science) at Chisholm Trail Elementary
What inspires you to work in Belton ISD? The sense of unity. I am blessed to work in a district where I know that I have support when trying to meet the needs of my students. My grade level team, my campus administration, to even district administration - every time I have asked for guidance or support they have been there to help me along the way to get the answers and solutions I need to better teach my students. To me, another way to spell TEAM is BISD.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself. I spend every spring break and at least a week in the summer on a cruise.
What was a pivotal moment in your career? A pivotal moment in my career was my first year as a teacher in Belton ISD. I had been an at-home mom for 13 years and returned to teaching two weeks after the passing of my husband. It was a new beginning. I was worried if I would still would have what it takes to be a good teacher to my students. Everyone was so supportive and it was amazing at the end of that year when I was nominated by a parent to receive a Big Red Heart award. It meant the world to me that people could see that I teach because I truly care about my students.
Academics? Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University
